Clay can be applied morning and/or evening. Shake a penny-sized amount into the palm of the hand and mix with either an evanhealy cleanser, facial tonic, or just water. Apply to the face, gently massaging in an upward direction. The mixture can be left on for 10 to 20 minutes or longer depending on skin sensitivity, or rinsed off right away. The longer the powder stays on the skin the deeper the action. Follow with an evanhealy Facial Tonic and our Sea Algae Serum. Complete treatment with Day Moisturizer and/or the Rosehip Treatment Oil.
A clay facial activates deep cleansing of the skin. Before applying the mask, you may want to take a few minutes to steam your skin over a pot of water that has been brought to a boil. Caution: Before steaming, take the pot off the burner. Do not steam your face while the water is boiling.
While steaming, massage a few drops of Rosehip Facial Treatment Oil into congested skin, and/or the T-zone. Or, simply massage all over your face. Steam actively penetrates the oil into tiny dermal pores loosening and softening blackheads. In this way, the clay acts to draw impurities out of skin. Allow the clay mask to dry completely – this is the most active part of the treatment. Remove mask with splashes of cool water, and wipe clean.
Restore hydration and moisturize by combining 2 to 3 drops of Rosehip Facial Treatment Oil, and layer with sprays of Facial Tonic hydrosol (oil and water). The skin will completely absorb this hydrating combination, feeling light, toned and glowing with luster.
Clay is appropriate for all types of skin, even the most sensitive. Drying times and thickness of the mask can be adjusted to accommodate your skin’s current condition. |
